Hurricane Olivia, currently a strong Category 2 storm, likely will make landfall as a tropical storm on either the Big Island or Maui on Wednesday, CBS News weather producer David Parkinson said.

Hurricane Lane remained a powerful Category 3 storm Friday as it churned slowly north-northwest toward the Hawaiian Islands.

As emergency shelters opened, rain began to pour down and cellphone alerts went out, the approaching Hurricane Lane started to feel real for Hawaii residents.
